Andy Surra is the Team Surra Outdoors Editor

Chris O’Hara is the Event Director for the Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show®, which was held February 4 – 12, 2012 at the PA State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA. Chris and his staff continue to produce a product that brings people from all over the world to Central Pennsylvania on an annual basis to see the latest in everything outdoors.

Thanks to Chris O’Hara and all the workers, volunteers, vendors, and participants; Team Surra Outdoors is proud to give the 57th Eastern Sports & Outdoors Show an A+. As usual this was a quality event that should act as a mecca for all outdoor enthusiasts in the United States. Attendance is an absolute must every single year!

From hunting, fishing, camping, guides, charters, and outfitters to clothing, art & taxidermy, travel, adventure, and power sports the Eastern Sports & Outdoors show probably has an entire portion of the Far Show Complex to your favorite pastime or obsession. Click here for a detailed floor map. The show, which is open for an entire week from 10am – 7pm and 10am-5pm on Sundays is akin to walking through sportsmen’s heaven and is so vast that I dare say nobody can see everything in one week. That said, I tried to experience as much as possible in just two days. Competitions in calling, decoys, taxidermy, photography, and hunting skill (particularly the 2012 PA 3D Bowhunters Challenge & Keystone IBO Indoor Nationals) had me running out of events and seminars hosted by the likes of Hank Parker and Lee and Tiffany Lakoski.
